How ingarden grown is made

Instead of isolated vitamins from a capsule, you get them bound into young sprouts. It takes four steps:

  • Soaking: the seeds swell in a nutrient bath.
  • Sprouting: the young plants absorb the vitamins and bind them into their cells.
  • Drying: harvested at the right moment and gently dried.
  • Grinding: finely ground, every batch is tested.

Our process is patent pending.

Scientifically studied

When a sprout binds a vitamin into its cells, the body may absorb it better. A study by the Medical University of Vienna (CuVi-16, 2016) examined this for folate.

19 healthy adults took 1,000 µg of folate on two days: once as pure folic acid, once bound in sprouted buckwheat. Over five hours, 38% more folate reached the blood from the sprouts (statistically significant, p = 0.049). The researchers suspect that the plant matrix protects the vitamin and releases it more slowly.

The study was commissioned by the developer of the process and examined folate.

Why it matters

“Why make vitamins chemically in a lab when you can let them grow naturally?”

The process behind ingarden grown

From seed to spoon in four steps.

Hand holding an ingarden grown Vitamin B Complex pouch against a blue sky
01

Soaking

Buckwheat seeds swell in a nutrient bath, absorbing water and vitamins.

02

Sprouting

Within a few days, young sprouts grow. They build the vitamins into their cells, so they are firmly bound to the plant.

03

Drying

Sprouting is stopped at the right moment. Gentle drying keeps the vitamins in the sprouts.

04

Grinding

The sprouts are finely ground and every batch is tested. The result is a powder for water, smoothies or food.

Frequently asked questions

Can ingarden grown be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or by children?

ingarden grown can also be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding, provided there are no intolerances. Please discuss it with your doctor or midwife beforehand.

For children, the dosage should be discussed individually with a doctor.

Should I take additional vitamin B12?

One measuring spoon of ingarden grown already contains around 5 µg of vitamin B12 – more than twice the reference intake. Additional vitamin B12 usually only makes sense if a deficiency has been diagnosed, which is more common with a vegan diet, for example.

If in doubt, have your B12 status checked by a doctor and discuss the right dosage there.

How do I take ingarden grown?

One measuring spoon (1.5 g) a day, for example stirred into water, in a smoothie or over yogurt, muesli or salad. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

What's the difference between Vitamin D3 and B Complex?

ingarden grown Vitamin B Complex contains all eight B vitamins. ingarden grown Vitamin D3 contains the same eight B vitamins plus vitamin D3 (25 µg, 1,000 IU). So you only need one of the two products.

How long does one pouch last?

One pouch (90 g) lasts 60 days for one person – that's two months. For two people, simply plan for double the amount; you can select “2 people” above.

Is ingarden grown vegan and gluten-free?

Yes. ingarden grown is vegan and made from just one ingredient: sprouted organic buckwheat. It is free from gluten (below 20 ppm), lactose, palm oil and GMOs, and contains no fillers, colorings, flavorings, preservatives or magnesium stearate.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Anytime, in your customer account or by email. We'll remind you 5 days before every delivery so you can pause, reschedule or cancel in time. You'll get the golden measuring spoon free with your first subscription delivery.

Can I combine ingarden grown with other food supplements?

Generally, yes. If you take other products containing B vitamins or vitamin D, please keep an eye on the total daily amount and, if in doubt, ask your pharmacist or doctor.

How should I store ingarden grown?

Close the pouch tightly after opening and store it in a dry, cool place away from light – in a kitchen cupboard, for example.

Why a B complex instead of individual B vitamins?

The eight B vitamins are involved in many shared metabolic processes. With a complex you get all eight in one serving instead of combining several single products. In ingarden grown, they all come from one source: the buckwheat sprout.

Vitamin B complex, naturally from buckwheat sprouts

ingarden grown Vitamin B Complex contains all eight B vitamins: thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), folate (B9) and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin. One measuring spoon (1.5 g) provides 161 to 297% of the nutrient reference value (NRV) per day.

Instead of pressing vitamins into a capsule, we let them grow: organic buckwheat sprouts in a vitamin-rich nutrient bath and stores the vitamins in its cells. It is then gently dried and finely ground. The process is patent pending.

The result is a pure powder made from just one ingredient, with no capsule shell, fillers, colorings, flavorings or preservatives. It is vegan and gluten-free and can be taken in water, in a smoothie or sprinkled over muesli and yogurt.

Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamins B2, B6, B12 and folate contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
