Today we'll show you how to give a classic dish like fried rice a fun twist. Since the entire dish is cooked in a single pan, it's quick and easy to prepare, which we love! Plus, with vegetables and red cabbage microgreens, you get an explosion of healthy nutrients.
A few tips:
Cold rice or rice from the day before is best, so that the rice doesn't stick together and become too mushy.
Don't leave out the sesame oil. Sesame oil has a distinctive nutty aroma that gives this dish its traditional flavor.
Recipe for fried egg rice
1 serving, 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 clove of garlic, chopped
- ¼ green chili pepper, chopped
- 1/4 head of broccoli, chopped
- ¼ cup green peas
- 1 egg
- ½ cup precooked and cooled rice
- ½ teaspoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 spring onion, chopped
- 1 Seed pad Red cabbage microgreens
preparation
- Place the pan over medium heat, add the sesame oil, and then add the garlic, chili, broccoli, and peas. Sauté the vegetables until softened.
- Push the vegetables to one side so the egg can cook on the other side. Use a spatula to scramble the egg. Mix the egg into the vegetables.
- Add the rice and mix it with the vegetable and egg mixture. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and soy sauce and stir until heated through.
- Turn off the stove and stir in the spring onions and red cabbage microgreens just before serving.
