It might sound absurd, but this vegan tuna definitely has the potential to change your mind about plant-based alternatives. This recipe uses a combination of chickpeas, nori seaweed, and spices to create a meaty, salty, and satisfying flavor that tastes almost like the real thing. Whether you're vegan or simply looking for new taste experiences, this dish is an absolute must-try. And the best part? It's easy to prepare and contains no animal products.
1 hour, 2 servings
Ingredients :
- 1 watermelon (diced)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 sheet of nori seaweed
- 2.5 tablespoons of neutral-tasting oil (e.g., olive oil, sunflower oil, etc.)
- 1/2 seed pad of kale microgreens
Preparation :
- Peel the watermelon and cut it into large cubes.
- For the marinade, mix sesame oil, soy sauce, nori seaweed, and oil, and store in the refrigerator. Let the watermelon cubes marinate in it for 1 to 6 hours.
- Reserve the remaining marinade and place the marinated watermelon cubes on a baking sheet. Bake the cubes at 150°C for 1-1.5 hours. Dip the watermelon cubes first in the remaining marinade and then in sesame seeds.
- Serve the vegan "tuna" salad with half a pad of kale microgreens.
